has anybody ever had an architecture or urban planning/design firm as a client? any sample work you can show me? ...there are so many model renderings, sections, maps, etc. - no room for white space!!

it is your job to reel them back in to a direction that suits them best, amongst their peers.

aye, done a lot of architect/developer sites

http://www.upperstrand.co.uk/the big challenge at the moment - with the credit crunch in the UK - is to get their homes SOLD as no one is buying at the moment.
so like madirish said - its you having to position them so that they stand out from their peers, you need to top what their peers are doing.

I've done some years ago. Doing a Master Plan site or something ?

is this a website? or print?

the latest print ad (and the first bit of print ive done for ages) for Vienna is a typographic advert to make it stand out from the usual adverts full of photos of taps/sinks/kitchens or stock photo lifestyle shots.
its kind of a risk on the clients behalf because it IS so different to whats already out there. but i think its going to make a positive difference :)

oh another bit of advice, architects change their layout drawings/plans all the time so make the site easy and quick to update for bits like that.
its law that every drawing (for selling a house) and all measurements MUST be accurate otherwise they can be held accountable so theyl always want to make sure any drawings/measurements are up to date.
take that into account in the design.

its print - its all about tall buildings in Toronto, I've also designed master plans documents etc. Its not really selling condos its urban planning and urban design - architecture at a much larger scale. I can't even put lifestyle shots in because there are so many renderings, street plans, building plans etc.
- I do the same work in Toronto as well. You probably work for that other agencyimnotadesigner
- oh ya? which company? do they have a website?c_drive

builders and architects are alllllll the same... NO white space.... and they want their buildings and logos and websites to be BIG.
