  I smashed my mac book pro in the car once.. " it looked as flat as a pancake.
  after much freaking out, and going to a few mac locations, everyone said it would cost me around 1k to fix..
  I became friends with a few of the guys working there and they fixed my mac for free.. and because that old mac kept messing up all the time, they just ended up giving me a new mac for free.. I think they were sick of seeing me in the store every a month

  so moral of the story.. become bff's with someone in the apple store.
