You don't need the pop-up just load it in the same window.

i have the popup so it resizes to the specific dimensions

- I still get a scrollbar. OSX 10.5.2 / FF2.flashbender

click to enter - OMG you say this site was designed in 2008? but that practice died in 2001 dude!
plz dont resurect it, splash screens - may they rest in peace

If you really really really want a specific size use a javascript resize. But I advise against that. It is annoying.

trooper- in regards to the splash screen.... I used it to help out the search engines given that the entire site was 100% Flash based.
As far as the "click here" that was a client request, when the talks, I have to listen just like every other designer out there who isnt a stephen sagmeister.

How does a splash screen with an image help SEO?
- meffid0
I used to date that heffa in the pics.

the splash page is also informing people of the technology being used to make sure they have flash installed. I know most people will probably already have it but its still a common practice to inform the viewer.
Yes the text was one thing I was lacking on splash and possibly a link to download the flash player.
- yeah, but an image doesn't do shit for seo.Jnr_Madison
- you don't even have any alt text for the image.Jnr_Madison

You use an unnecessary pop-up for the site then load pics in the splash window (media section). Weird.

it is well proven that splash pages kill traffic. a better method is to use swfObject to detect and install or inform visitors. that way you can present html to those that won't install flash (or can't- like iPhone), and to index in search engines.
yes, you need to listen to and please your clients, but you must also learn how to steer them away from potential disaster.

I know it's for a goth type band but the design doesn't do much for me either.

Also, what size is the pop-up, doesn't look like it would fit on a 1024x768 resolution.
- I forget what it was at the moment, but it was sized to fit the browser window of a 15" screen.wademd
- well it doesn't I'm afraid.Jnr_Madison

Thank you guys for your comments, especially the swf object detect info. It is too late to make some of these changes since I would like to move on to a better project plus I already received my pay for it, but it helps me out on my future projects.
Goodnight guys
