...to a photographer you sourced for a project and this was his "big break" per say... keep in mind that you had to really push your client to use this guy because they already had someone else lined up.
He shoots the job and you get this humble "thanks for recommending me"
Now hes shot about 9 more projects for your agency because hes cheaper than most (still at about 10K each) and has totally kept you out of the loop.
When you see him he gives off the cocky vibe like his S#!T doesnt stink.I feel like I should get some kick back... What would you say?

smother & bludgeon him
- sputnik20
if you wanted kick-back you should've had a contract or specified beforehand. you're understandably frustrated, but you can't decide you want something for all this now.
- mentioned it briefly with him on the first project... but then hes been dodging me sinceimnotadesigner

First it's "per se", secondly were you friends beforehand?
They probably see it as taking an opportunity and running with it.
- And not that they necessarily owe you anything... because they kind of don't.flavorful
- yeaahhhhhh but... one hand washes the other...imnotadesigner

i dont know about the kick back if you didn't establish it from the beggining even as a joke... but you should joke about how you set him up
- grunttt0
take him out for a beer. tell him your side of things. wear something short.
- JG_LB0
Crucify him
- morilla0
He doesn't owe you anything.
- technically, you're right. But still, I wasn't raised that way... you should always show appreciation when someone does something for you. Call me oldschool or whateverimnotadesigner
- morilla0
Just tell him the real reason you have been using him. Tell him that he is cheaper and to stop being a prick. Or you will go elsewhere.

Tell him to raise his rates and to stop low balling the better photographers. Make it seem like his idea though.

Just say a polite Hello? I dunno just forget about it oh well.

buy a wheelchair in a thriftshop(20$) post up by one of his new favorite posh exclusive restaurants(that you can't afford now) Buy tin cup from 1$ store... Wait for him to leave and wiggle little cup and he should compensate you
- chossy0
A kick back who the fuck do you think you are you greedy so and so, look all you can ask for is a little more appreciation at getting him his big break, are you some sort of manager ? if so then yes you should get money but for all the jobs he has done for you guys on repeat work is cause of his talent.
- Redmond0
Wait, out of the loop, what is it you want from him? Money? Gratitude? Friendship?
- MrDinky0
maybe he just feels that he is not getting a response from the guy as he hoped. some continuous gratitude, even him asking him for dinner / drinks only to say no, just feels good to be appreciated.
- 7point340
i know exactly what you mean...
i helped to hook up my friend with his wife a few years back, and you know what he's never once offered to let me have a go
- your fault, you always take a dip and test the water before you let your friend jump inMrDinky

- locustsloth0
What exactly ARE you looking for? What could he do that would be a satisfactory expression of his gratitude to you?
Also, if he said "Thanks for the recommendation" and you said "No problem" or something like that, he probably thinks it was actually no problem
- imnotadesigner0
just a little Gratitude fuck thats all, bottle of wine, bit of weed, a blowjob whatever... What I did say though was, "I'll do my best to get you the job but... maybe you could show me how to set up studio lighting for myself"
- CALLES0
