Not SPAM as such, but a mate of mine is doing a competition thing as part of a series of events with San Miguel, looks quite cool – details below:
San Miguel Hidden Depths It's Pop It's Art Design Competition
In collaboration with It’s Pop It’s Art & Airside, San Miguel Hidden Depths is staging a nationwide design competition that will run until 3rd September 2008.
The competition aims to discover and develop emerging young design talent within the UK.
The brief is to create a lyric-based print in the spirit of the It's Pop It's Art collection. The design must be based on the song, War, by Edwin Starr and attempt to capture the emotion of the song and its lyrics. In essence, the design should be a visual cover version of the original song.The print should feature at least one complete line from the song but can feature illustration as well as typography. The design can be presented in portrait or landscape format utilizing a maximum of five colours
It’s Pop It’s Art & Airside will draw up a shortlist that will be exhibited at our final San Miguel Hidden Depths event on 18th September 2008 at The Amersham Arms in London. Our very special guest judges, including Fred Deakin and Kate Moross, will select and announce the winner on the night.
The winning print will be commercially available as part of the It’s Pop It’s Art range. The winner will also receive a design fee.
