as part of the iphone dev tool kit, you get all the items that are functional and its just drag and drop

True, but it's faster to just download that file than to register for the 'Free SDK'. This is more geared toward rapid prototyping strategy/design pitches. But yeah, the SDK will always be a more robust option.
