Come on guys, the whole "show us your work before you can say anything negative" is bullshit, by that logic your not allowed to criticise some Hollywood film on the grounds that you have never made one yourself.
I liked the idea (being a big fan of Build), product concept seems a little weak. But max_prophet is entitled to hate it into the ground without having it turn into a critique of his work.

max_prophet has always been a natural born hater, so why all the surprise? let him be who he is. to each his own.
- Don't stoop to using that catchall word of the idiot mob, Janne.max_prophet
- stoop? mob? you lost me dear friend.janne76
- Sane_Six0
Hating is fine...Do we really need to be subjected to it on here though? Just because hes been doing it forever, does that mean we have to put up with it? Constructive critism welcomed, anything out of that is a bloke shooting his mouth off surely?

Personally, I like the ad, and I really like MCP's work. If max_prophet doesn't, thats fine. If he wants to flame the whole thing and ruffle feathers, then thats up to him. People can agree or disagree on here, and anyone (for ill or good) can say what they like. Its just an opinion, and like arseholes, everyones got one.
I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

I'm no hater I just say it as I see it, I give plenty of constructive crit that's worth a damn sight more than most of the "awesome" and "yeah like it" etc that dominates threads here, you polite people can call your little meetings and rub each others fannies all you like.
enjoy yourselves
- Sane_Six0
"Holy fuck that's embarrassing. I'm sure the cheque was nice though, anal rape costs a lot huh."
wow...thats constructive! Anal Rape and Rubbing Fannies - prefound!
- ooh quick call a meeting, draw a fucking chart, brainstorm!max_prophet

Hahaha this thread has made me laugh!
- max_prophet0
Basically this all boils down to the fact that about 2 months ago I 'queried' the typography on Sane_Six's Hello Von poster thing
That's the real point here.
- Sane_Six0
haha - did you?? Please show me the thread
- max_prophet0
I can't remember the thread - anyway, I have shit to do now so have a nice day
- Sane_Six0
ah ha...so you did.
"THE WORK – OF/500 HELLO VON
I mean I like nice letters and colours as much as the next man, but what?"Well I think I got off lightly compared with build, I think thats a fair observation. To answer your question Max, the "OF" has a double function 1) it fits within the sentence "The work OF Hellovon" 2) it fits within "OF 500"...the artist signs on the line before the "OF"...e.g. 23 of 500.
Hope that clears things up...I'm sure you still hate it.
- So no, my previous comments were not made it response to this as Ive never seen it before.Sane_Six
- I see, I couldn't read what the little type there said, makes sense now.max_prophet

i like the artwork , i like the application of the product which i never knew existed, i think it could of just been shot a little better, and a little telecine wouldn't of hurt
- Good point about telecine - colour grading was a bit pedestrianbabaganush
- or should i say graded, i dunnoPromotionalUseOnly

this is the story I get from this commercial:
Build would rather use 20 correction-rollers than the hundreds of dollars of equipment he has lying around to paint a couple of white lines. It's even more fun than riding a skateboard! -- from a business perspective, that's a nice selling point, from an artist's perspective that's just plain silly.I like Build, and although the style of the image isn't that "new", it is his style. You can argue about if it is right or wrong to use artists' work for commercial gain (think about United Colours of Benneton), but it was Build's decission to be a part of this.

This thread reminds me of Shaughnessy's book and the part where he speaks about design, fame and plumbers.

The fault of Build's awesome work
- Dr_Rand0
I'd probably do it in a second--not that anybody would ever ask me, or that I'd be able to draw a line to save my life, or that I'd be so nervous they'd have to scrap the whole project
