Great work, but yes do think its too messy, if the background color for the links was removed it would look cleaner.

Whilst I can certainly appreciate that the work is very good and he has worked for some top studios.
I can't help but feel that I have seen it all before

Whilst I agree there is not a lot of completely original stuff out there my point was that I have seen a lot of work that uses chunky type, solid BG colours on type only, avant garde, blah blah....

I do it like this..
when I say I don´t like it, it means that the design or whatever is not my taste, doesn´t mean its not good.
when I say its shit, like an extended arial bold logo, its is shit and not a taste thing.
