Here are the first stills from the Hillman Curtis' directed adaptation of the book by Cormac McCarthy. I have great expectations for this one, loved the novel.

NOOOO! they're making a movie? Gawd damn, that will more than likely be total shiite.
Though No Country For Old Men was a great adaptation of McCarthy's book, the difference was the screenplay and direction were done by the genius of the Cohen bros.
Hillman Curtis!? I can't see him doing this book proper justice.

however, these photos look really amazing. Viggo would make the perfect "dad" character.
Ok ok, I'll admit I'm really pretty excited about this now.- history of violence. bad ass ..._eh_
- as was Eastern Promises. the bad ass role suits him well, perfect for this film. the flawed bad assthreadpost

I'm surprised this is to be released so soon, I thought viggo was only just in talks at the beginning of the year. weird.

I dont like them introducing the mother (played by Charlize Theron) into the movie. That was the power of the book and it's fundamental characters' motivation, the intensely deep connected relationship between the father and the boy. They relied on each other to live, they were all each other had. McCarthy deliberately kept the mother out of it (talked about very briefly, but a very minor roll, mother never had any dialogue). that would have changed the dynamic of the father/son relationship.- "I think it's fine to depart from the book as long as you maintain the sprit of it" Hillcoat says. WTF is he on aboutroundabout

I bought the book and will read it before I see the movie.

i wonder if Charlize Theron will take off her shirt.
- in that case her character makes a ton of sense. they also need to find roles for megan fox and angelina joliethreadpost

The trailer looks average at best, hope the films better.

WARNING, WARNING
Not clicking links makes you stupid.
John Hillcoat people, not Hillman Curtis. Are you really that dumb to think Hillman Curtis could, and would ever be asked to, direct a movie of this scale.

i've heard that the global warming stuff in the trailer isn't in the actual movie. i dunno the book is so good and i don't know if this will do it justice. i doubt it will.

I loved the book. can't wait to see if the movie lives up to it!

They just had to use Trajan, didn't they.
I have high hopes for this. The book was heartbreakingly beautiful. If anyone can pull off the role of the father, it's Viggo.

Hillman Curtis directs a movie??

I'm not gonna go see this. The book had such an immediate impact and immensely visual narrative, no movie is ever going to live up to that, no matter who the director is or who plays what. I read the book 2 years ago and even now I still have it all visually pictured in my head, I don't want that all ruined by going to see this film.

I wonder how true they'll be to the gruesomeness of the book. If so, I'll be having nightmares for years, and I'll never let my son toddle down the street without me by his side, carrying a loaded revolver.
