Anyone know a good quality digital printer in Toronto or surrounding area. Need to print out hi-res versions of my portfolio on matte photographic paper.
Cheers,
Ian

I go with RP Graphics. Ask for Ralph. He's a good dude.

Ok the search continues...
What I essentially need to do is print out onto Epson Photo Semi Gloss (or similar) paper. Or a decent digital proofing press. It's impossible to find a printer that will do this! Anyone???
Does anyone use a printer that does decent digital printing (not the crappy colour laser style outputs).
At this rate I'd be quicker buying a large printer and the paper and doing it myself... but I can't afford that.

Ralph at Rp Graphics is awesome.

If you work in print and do lots of mocks and/or proofs for clients it'll make more sense in the long run to buy a printer yourself. Something Super B/A3 would fit the bill. Both Epson and HP make some pretty affordable ones. We've been using HP DesignJets for about ten years and have no complaints. Right now we've got a 30n in the studio. Can be had for about 800 bucks and is cheap to run — print heads and six inks are all separate. We always use Epson paper in it and the output (once calibrated to each type of paper) is both awesome and accurate.
A friend's got a slightly larger Epson 9-billion or something. It'll accept roll-fed media up to 18". Stunning output but way more expensive to buy and operate — more aimed for photographers.
The Lettering Shop might be able to help you as they've got some good inkjets but prefer to do much larger-scale (in size and quantity) output.
How many pages do you want to do? E-mail me.

hmm. cenitgrade, you can also try Flash Reproductions, CV Studios, and Imaging Excellence.
I know I used to get epson proofs from CV Studios for dirt cheap.
Hope that helps.

Cheers for that. I will get my own printer eventually, I used to use the Epson +A3 myself and I'd love to get one. However right now, I get afford to shell out for one.
I've contacted RP Graphics, awaiting reply. I try call ralph again no, he was away from desk this morning.
