Our doctor told my wife to stop breastfeeding when our baby turned 1. After that the milk produced is not as rich in nutrients.

Breastfeeding is a good thing.
Breastfeeding an 8 year old is not. There is a reason why we have teeth, and that is to eat. That mother has serious issues with letting go. Let your bloody children go, FFS.- There are definately other issues in this case besides nutrition and bondinglocustsloth

i've been BF my daughter, who is about to turn one and get weaned. most moms do this between 1 year (if they can get that far) and 18 months. beyond that: EW and WTF and FFS make them stop!
