Keep it clean, simple and on one page. Shit-hot typography goes a long way. Do not make a logo out of your name. Do not put a photo of yourself on it. Don't lie.

You should have it as a hand-held 3d holographic projection of your head rambling off your achievments (complete with 3d spinning awards and logos) that pops up a-la R2D2 the minute the recipient opens the mail.

I think the one page thing is old hat. If you have great experience, list it, don't feel obliged to make it one page (don't make it 4 though!)
- If you're new. Keep it simple and don't try too hard. Your work will speak for itself.babaganush

keep it simple...
I see prob about 20-30 CV's a day when there's an ad out.

I employ of a portfolio not a CV. The amount of people I see who put work in their portfolio is untrue. remember is a small world so dont bullshit.

portfolio portfolio portfolio.
At the end of the day I'm not going to take a punt on someone who's got no creative portfolio. My balls on the line at the end of the day.
At the end of the day I want to see what I'll be buying. If you havn't got a portfolio, get some work experience.

Mojo it really doesnt matter what you did or didnt do, it's the work. I've taken on people who didnt go to uni, and people from uni. It's all about the work.

what kezza said.
also, for new designers, when listing experience, only list Relevant experience. The number of cvs i've been through that list shelf stacking experience beggars belief. OK only 4 cvs said that out of a few hundred but you get my drift.
hey kezza, your place is a full service agency, so when you are looking for people do you tend to look for specialist skills or generalist? or does it depend on the job you are filling?
- kezza_20
Depends on the job. I keep, folios, reels and books on people we might use.
