Also, take the time to get used to it. Takes a while to appreciate it. I know a few people who got one then boxed it up a few days later saying it wasn't for them. Took me a while to full appreciate it. Stick with it.
- play around with the prefs a lot to set it up for you.Jnr_Madison

There is absolutely no comparison when working with the stylus vs a mouse. They are pricey but so worth it. Especially for photo-editing or retouching. I bought mine brand new in box off craigslist for 150 less than retail. He wanted the smaller size since he only used one monitor so my gain was his loss. Get one for sure. Wacom 3 ftw.

I really want one, but I hate not looking at what I'm working on. I can do it just fine, the coordination isn't very hard but it keeps bugging me. Do you all have the Intuos or does anyone have the Cintiq and want to share their experience?

So what are the biggest differences between the Intuos and the new Bamboo series?

That's what she said.

bump.... what's the difference between bamboo and intuos?
- I would imagine pressure-sensitivity... Shittier stylus with the bambo also I would think.canuck

the closer the sizes of wacom and screen are to each other, the better; would be a rule i could confirm. and i think disabeling all buttons wich would force your eyes away from the screen towards the wacom is not bad. long-time experience here: expensive, yes, but it survived all other machines since 1995. and life is not so good without a tablet.

I always wanted to use one, but when I had the chance I couldn't get used to it

get an intuos3... bigger the better imo. i'm on a 9x12, can't imagine working on a little 4x6, what's teh point?
consider the widescreen 6x11 if deskspace is an issue.. would be ideal with dual display.
