im not in atlanta, but in new york. 1st phone took 8 days. ordered another one last saturday, should be here on sat or monday.
they were saying the 8 gigs are taking longer than the 16, however if you want a white phone.. the shipping is very quick

I went to an ATT store and they told me the same thing, 10-21 days. The same day, I called the Apple Store and they told me they had them in stock. So I drove down there and got one. I bought the last one!
The iPhones are selling like crazy, if you have an Apple Store near by, I suggest you try there and forget the ATT sotre.
If they don't have it, call them every day, they receive iPhones (not many) every day, or every other day.
Here's the Apple Stores numbers:
Mall of Georgia - (678) 288-3400
Alpharetta, North Point - (770) 754-3992
Lenox Square - (404) 926-3085
Perimeter - (678) 459-9800

yeah, tried that. a coworker and i headed over to lenox about a week ago. the line was 150 deep. i'm looking at these people thinking, you have to know they don't have this many in stock.

I got mine in less than 48 hours. They told me it would be a lot longer and the lady was pretty surprised.

I guess I was lucky. I went to store, no line, asked for one, got it, paid for it, and never put it down since then!! ;-)
My wife loved so much, that she said she wanted one. So I did exactly what I described. I called until they told they had them in stock. Yesterday they received some, went there, they gave me a ticket this time, that would assure me one. Waited in line for about 10 minutes, and bought one. :D

Jailbreak = have control over software install that are not sanctioned by Apple but must use Apple sanctioned carrier.
Unlock = ability to use on any GSM carrier BUT does not support 3G since 3G works on availability and also locked carrier.

I once learned it first-hand: don't be an apple early adopter, you're paying for being a tester.
They will improve the casing in a few months.
