Lord, whatever next! This is like the stuff you buy on ebay for above your corporate sofa in your corporate waiting room in your grey building in a generic 'new' city. I'd rather paint with my own blood and have a real DNA artwork!

when you consider the shit that pretends to be 'art' on www.vvork.com for example it aint that bad
- Atkinson0
only in the way you can hang it on your wall. And the company are building up a hell of a DNA database!

rubbish stuff.
- blackspade0
i think its a wicked concept, whats not too like ?

you know you can comment in the actual thread...
i too quite like the concept, if not the final product.

I didn't know that, and I realised after posting that it just seems to be the poster that puts EC: beofre the topic. Hey, experience!
Concept yes, product no. There's a lot to with DNA that I like but I think putting a picture of it on your wall is a little uninspiring / uninspired.

Company has been around for awhile and at Semi Permanent 05 the 2 guys that own this company were cool dudes. Good to see they are still around. The quality of the prints are top notch. DNA from a family of 4 is quite interesting.
- Atkinson0
better than the family of four?
- blackspade0
good point about proof that it was acutally your own DNA though
- Atkinson0
Yes true. And back to the family of four. When our gret great grandchilderen are around I don't want to be remembered as a series of stripes!
- true. Still I think the concept is brilliant and like I said these guys are top notch.amongthemasses
- the kiss and fingerprint prints are a waste of time though.amongthemasses

Really like this idea!

what about boaby-outline or vag-smear canvases
cant get any more personal that that.the pink canvas above looks pretty cool but the spectrum ones on their site look pants! as does the lips and fingerprint ones

I like the fact that you can get a personalized poster based on your own DNA. But what I don't understand is why they choose a representation of the DNA that most are familiar with.
They could have gone all generative on your DNA and let the artwork come alive (!!) thanks to your DNA. But no, they choose to add a magenta background on a color-negative of an image you can google in 2 seconds (ok it will not really be your own, but who can tell?). The only thing I do agree on, which is kinda cool, is what amongthemasses said, where you can hang multiple posters together of blood-relatives..concept yes, execution no

Lets continue this in the thread with the picture...
