Don't know what the fuck just happened...my computer shut down and restarted by itself, came back and said "Norton has installed necessary updates.."
And now Parental controls are turned on and I can't get to 90% of the internet including our company site and my email (oddly enough QBN is a-ok). I've never used Norton in my life and always had it shutdown on this machine...now I can't change it or even uninstall it without some sort of "supervisor password" WTF...fuck you Norton...I hate your shit..worst ever..

Guys - The reason people use norton in business is because of REPUTATION.
They are the biggest anti-virus and have got a foothold as the business solution for AV.
Think about it - If your clients files were lost due to a virus on your system, and in turn they lose money for it .. if it came to court at least you'd have a leg to stand on by saying you had the latest updates available.

- And what version? Sorry forgot to ask...PSYKHO

True but there are far better solutions than Norton. Trend is a million times better, http://emea.trendmicro.com/emea/… used it at my old company and it was the nuts. But you are 100% right with losing client files due to not having the latest gear.
- Mojo0
Yes Trend is better, but that doesn't matter in the business world which is technically better. If you use a product that nobodies heard of, that has been time-tested... you could be in trouble.
Incidentally, I hate norton's stuff. Apart from Corporate edition AV. That thing is fantastic.

For the record this stupid parental control thing blocks cnn, yahoo and gmail, but I can see qbn and a couple of porn sites! Quality stuff.

haha yes, I've tried to get decent filtering. Fail.

Is there a default supervisor password on this crapolla? or maybe just blank? (We're a small company and I am essentially the IT department - what two computers and a network box...) the Norton that runs on this thing I never set up, never got any updates for it or subscriptions..just let it sit there without removing it..and now this shit...
