iphone 3G VOIP

  Has anyone tested any VOIP add-ons or programs with a new 3g iphone?

  There's a skype beta program in the works, and I was reading about this yesterday:

  I get horrible AT&T reception in my apartment - that's why I switched from Cingular years ago - and I'm interested in the ability to use a VOIP program like this via my Wi-Fi connection at home. If I could have the phone forward calls to the VOIP account if it's not getting a signal, that would totally rule.

  Thoughts?

  Read up on the link I posted. Looks like it could be cool, and I think it's free. Skype is working on a pay service. I lost a bookmarked page with all the current iphone voip services. :(

  Apple doesn't allow voip apps to use 3G or EDGE.
  I'm sure fring will work in Installer though, it uses skype.

  • I'd only use it for international calls though, I think it works out more expensive for local/national calls.5timuli

  A: All phone calls that you make to the USA and Canada are completely free, all calls that you receive are completely free regardless of where the caller is located. As well, all calls between iCall users are free.
