OK, this had me laughing. A blogger reviewing a graphic design book about Heavy Metal band logos. Excerpt:
"Graphic designers are the dickless shits responsible for the UPS trucks being that ugly-ass brown and for those uber-gay ipod ads. Yeah, yeah, you're cool. You know how to push a few buttons in some crappy Adobe program and you think you are better than the rest of us..."
"I can see why designers would like this logo. It's sorta symmetrical and shit, but that "L" looks like an "S" with down syndrome. I still can't get over the thought of some trendy faggy designers sitting around a conference room table discussing whether or not the Death Angel logo would "make the cut". It's just fucking preposterous."

So many of those old logos look like that started out on the cover of a school book.
Take the Death logo: The first version had a Reaper-esque head and and a flaming inverted cross. So, then, I guess marginally cleaned up later.
Great link. And I'm keeping that book on my wishlist.

this is some funny stuff. Its like a rockNroll Metalhead with an actual OPINION on design. I like his preferences for assymetrical hand-drawn "tough" designs, like the Slayer log (it doesn't suck)
