Photoshop Images to PDFx1a

Went to an Adobe sponsored InDesign seminar and it was cool to see some new workflow ideas. One of which was the idea of leaving all photoshop images in RGB and letting the PDF exporter (PDFx1a) handle the conversion to CMYK. Does anyone use this type of workflow? I would be fine with it but I like to see what my image looks like in CMYK before placing in InDesign and exporting to PDF. Do you still convert the psd file to CMYK like me or any tips on the RGB workflow?

I used to do that but I would get RGB preflight errors in the image..I can't believe they told you to do that. That sounds like lazy BS. Convert to CMYK in photoshop

It was just and idea presented, they didn't specifically say 'do it this way' but i can see how some newbie would do it this way thinking they were saving time. By the sounds of it, I'll stick to converting in photoshop.
