Photoshop CS3 troubles

Running CS3 on Leopard and having a problem where I work on a file, then save & close it, I can't open the file again. It only happens sporadically and I've tried renaming the extension as I thought it was one of those kind of issues, but I'm stumped.
It's making the Photoshop visuals I'm doing really time consuming as I have to do everything twice.
Anyone able to shed any light on this?
Thanks

are you on a network?

Yes, but I can't remember if all the files that it happened to were running off there. Let's say they are, what does that mean?

Are you on Mac?
There was a problem saving CS3 files to a server with 10.5.3. Hit up 10.5.4 and your prayers will be answered*.
*Alternatively, this might not help.

I've had the same problem saving over a network, lost a lot of work... did you have Time Machine running? might be able to get an old version... I just updated to 10.5.4, hopefully it wont happen again.

Its 10.5.3. There were a ton a conflicts with the OS and Adobe. 10.5.4 will help. Run your software update. Had about 5 comps at my office with the same issues. All better now.

What kind of file is it? .tif, .psd?

PSDs usually, but will try and sort to 10.5.4. Is this a free D/L?

Think this has worked. God bless the internet!
