For a minute there I thought you meant the EU government, but their website doesn't say anything..

See how the media works?
There weren't any news when Belgium got its government back (can't remember hearing about a solution for that crisis last year): we only heard about it when it had no government for a few hundreds days, and now we hear about it again when it falls again. Pretty sad media coverage if you ask me.

Weren't you doing just fine without a government not so long ago? Why worry?
You're in good hands, your own. Seriously, countries run themselves. This way at least you're sure the govt. won't break anything.- If there's one good thing about Europe, raf, is Social Care. The richest pay for the poorest. What would you rather have?Corvo
- Freedom to opt out. To keep my social tax money and get insurance of my choicerafalski
- Ah but then you'd want to keep your EU labour market as well wouldn't you?Corvo
- "I want no tax but I need people to sell my useless shit to. You figure it out!". That's what's you're saying.Corvo
- Free labour market doesn't require EU at all. Hailed as EU achievement it's just normalcy brought back.rafalski
- 100-150 years ago people moved freely across Europe - that's nothing newrafalski
- yes, I want my tax money, and if other people keep theirs they can buy my shit if they want. everybody happy, right?..rafalski
- Doesn't require EU? How would you cope then with exchange-rates; every country trying to balance their export-sheet like before?Corvo
- ...before. I admire your liberalism (I like it myself), but I think you're being naïve as not to see the benefits of a common-trade union.Corvo
- ... common-trade union. Common-trade implies common taxation. There's no such thing as a free lunch.Corvo
- It worked well before the EU. ECC was all Europe needed and it was good.rafalski
- Most countries are afraid to lose their identity. I understand that, since Brussels, wants their logo everywhere.Corvo
- Actually, we're being lied by propaganda there is EU - it's still EC (formerly ECC) until Lisbon Treaty is signed.rafalski
- And they want to keep their own policies. I defend that myself. But that's a thin line when economy gets involved.Corvo
- Tax harmonization will kill EU economically. When we all get French/German taxes, EU will fall imo. Which is ok by me,rafalski
- In a free-market EU you can't have (eg) different law standings. That would allow some countries to behave differently as to penalties.Corvo
- differently. You see, it's about regular contribution - it's about keeping deviant business on a short leash.Corvo
- It's all about large international business and governing bodies keeping control over us easier that's all if you ask me.rafalski
- It's not about labels and logos. Portugal has socialism, Ireland capitalism (kinda), they're different. They want it all flat.rafalski
- ok. I see we have the same liberal principles, but I am more concerned with evolution.Corvo
- I do think that my absurd taxation will lead to a better future. You don't believe that. That's how we stand.Corvo
- It's in Systems Theory: A single big system is more likely to fail than 27 small ones linked together and it will.rafalski
- you're using words, not logic, my friend (I like you). System Theory says if an hinge fails it breaks the whole system...Corvo
- Independent states - if one fails by a bad decision, other can help and learn from its experiencerafalski
- ... but hinges can be replaced, and it will still work. Doors are harder to manage than hinges.Corvo
- That's not I would do btw. I would respect Ireland referendum and come with somthing else.Corvo
- Empires fall themselves. Monopolies fall themselves.
They only need time. That's why I believe in ECC not EUrafalski - Some new plot. I think that's what they should do. If it ever comes my way to vote it, I'll vote this way.Corvo
- ok, our comments are now mixed up.Corvo
- I say, I would vote until everybody agrees on the same idea or call it off upon a deadline. Say 2010.Corvo
- Haha.. flights from Oporto to Dublin in October are almost free with capitalist Ryanair..rafalski
- Why don't you take a few bottles of port and come down as you said you had been planning to? :)rafalski
- Then we'll organize Dublin drinks and discuss politics properly!rafalski
- I could do that. no prob. But then I'd be booked as terrorist with liquids ;)Corvo
- You better come here, and stay at my place. We're not that paranoid yet.Corvo
- At Dublin airport you're a suspect if you don't bring any liquor with you!rafalski
- You're confusing Ireland with UK apparently, only threat to you here is the lack of airport authorities' competencyrafalski
- Thanks for the counter-invitation dude!rafalski

How does one pronounce "Yves?"

Ok, this is as far as I got in translation:
"Premier Yves Leterme is maandagavond rond 22u30 naar Laken gereden om zijn ontslag aan te bieden bij de Koning. Dat heeft de VRT-nieuwsdienst vernomen. Het bericht werd ook officieel bevestigd. Een half uurtje later zouden ook Herman Van Rompuy en Herman De Croo bij de Koning zijn aangekomen"
"The premier Yves Mailme is now a vagabond since 22 and 30, after ganging to the Lakes with a zing - swearing the onslaught of the King. Namely, he had a daft VCR with the latest news. Word, he got rich investing hook officials with wood. For an half-turtle he was heard oozing Herman of Rumpoy and Herman de Croo kissed the king with anger-women.
