Have you looked at this site on a 1024x768 screen? This site fills up most of my 20" iMac monitor, which probably isn't a good sign for you.
As much as it sucks, only within the last year or two did 1024x768 become the default. So, you may want to check this out...
- You should not be running your 20" iMac at 1024x768. As much as it sucks, you need to bump up your resolution.monospaced
- No. I don't run 1024 on my iMac. I just finished a site for myself, and just got done using a monitor set to 1024...skwiotsmith

No offense, but I haven't used a resolution lower than 1024x768 for quite some time and when I design for screen I generally consider that to be the lowest acceptable resolution. Now being a designer and considering my audience (prospective employers, other designers) I would hope that you too would consider using a higher resolution.

Derek, I really like your work and the amount of thought you put into everything you do. It's refreshing to see that level of versatility instead of someone obsessed with their 'style' of design. This will serve you well in your career.

Thank you! :D

No offense taken, but, once you get into the real world, those are things you really have to worry about and being a stuck up designer kicking and whining won't change Jane Doe's screen resolution.
You've got nice work. But there are some fundamental things you still need to figure out.
- d_rek0
I don't recall kicking or whining but I do recall addressing the audience the website is aimed at. But seriously, 1024x768? Next you're going to be telling me you're using Internet Explorer to browse the web.
- skwiotsmith0
I don't like the fact that 1024x768 is the standard screen resolution, nor that most people still use IE6. It makes every web/interactive designer's life a pain in the ass.
It sucks, but all I'm saying is you've got to be aware of these things...

1024x768 is not the standard screen resolution these days. It's 1280x1024 and up. A good majority are running upwards of 1600x1200.

actually 1024 is still the majority, but probably not for too much longer:
http://www.w3schools.com/browser…btw i think you could pull off 1440 because everyone knows all cd's have macbook air's.
