I just revealed to my mid-west in-laws (through the magic of the interwebs) that I support Obama 100%.
Out came my lack of (religious) faith, support of abortion legality (within reason), fondness of bracketed speech and support for universal health care.
If you never hear from me again, please look for me in a shallow grave in an Indiana state park. Bring a shovel.
Yours,
I'm In Trouble Now.

my mom (Bush/Mccain supporter from AZ) came down to Mexico to visit. The wife and I picked her up from the airport in our matching Obama '08 shirts.

I just found out that my 88-year-old grandfather supports Obama. Thought that was kinda cool.

i found out on the last canadian election my folks are turning green. mom voted green party. dad voted NDP.
biggest surprise of my life. my dad, military background and all, was that my dad could actually vote other than conservative. guess working closely and meeting 'Yo Steve' Harper made him realise how much of a tool he is.
... this was my contribution to this thread. now carry on.

Nice, Fanco. My parents vote Liberal all the time, but are actually a bit more conservative than they would like to admit. Perhaps the sole reason they support Liberals without fail is that they like all of the immigration laws and help that party provides.

My dad is very liberal, my mom is very conservative. He was a quiet kid raised in a relatively strict southern baptist community, his family were decorated navy pilots. She grew up in Lloyd Neck (Long Island, NY for those who don't know) and was doing coke lines with Blue Oyster Cult at the school dance when she was 17. Interesting how things change...
