this happens to me all of the time. i'm rendering out a lot of animations that have absolutely no sound in them, and when i even export them as quicktimes, i disable (uncheck) the Sound in the export.
so... no sound, right?
but like 10 times during my rendering export i get some error message saying something like
"the currently installed sound card driver does not support directinput", and it just seems to happen randomly... and the frames stop rendering until i notice this box has appeared and tell it to ignore the message.
does anyone have any idea why the hell this happens, why im getting sound errors when im not even using sound in my movie?

Doesn't really make sense, but could it be in your preferences for either your previews or video preview. i seem to remember something similar happening to me when i tried doing RAM previews, but not while rendering out

yeah, maybe what locustsloth said. check your prefs and set to built in output?
