Hi,
I've been trying to install Flash CS3 Pro demo on my PC for months but I double click the install, it says getting ready to launch the installer, then nothing ... ! grrrr!
Has anyone else had this problem? Adobe's site doesnt' seem to have any solutions.
I'm on Window's XP Pro, got loads of mem, space etc. I've downloaded the installer from Adobe many times just in case it was a dodge install but I keep getting the same prob.
Any help greatly appreciated!

Is it a 64bit version of XP you are runing? Or a 32bit?

It's the 32bit version ....

Ok, worth asking...
When you double click on the installer do you see an instance in the task manager? Have you tried to restart your PC and then run the installation as soon as XP has loaded?
When I installed Flash at a job once, it did take ages for it to uninstall all of the files to your /TEMP directory but it did install later on.
Have you looked at your temp folder? Maybe the setup.exe is in there?

I've downloaded the package from the Adobe site, this then extracts all the installer files into a folder. I then browse into that folder and double click the setup. It popup a progress bar (standard windows) saying that it's getting ready to install. After the bar has completed (this takes about 40seconds) then nothing happens.
Yeah, I have tried to restart and run it straight away. Funny thing is in the control panel / add remove programmes it lists Adobe Flash CS3! When I click change / uninstall, windows tells me that the programme may have already been remove and just say's if I'd like to remove it from the list.
It really weird.
I've found a temp install file in the programme files / Common Files but double clicking this does nothing.... hmmmm.... !!

I see, When I installed CS3 premium at previous job and I remember after windows unzipped the contents it did take 30-40 seconds for the installer to start.
Have you installed other Adobe products in the CS3 range? I can't help but think this is a corrupt installer.
Also do you have anything that could prevent the installer from running? Have a look at your registry as well. Let me know how you get on.

Nice one mate, I still don't know why it did not install... Could just be a windows thing. Anyways happy you go it at the end!
