Email me with what you require and I will get you in contact with my producer at work, pretty straightforward stuff if thats what you are after we would probably shoot it on RED.

Hey chossy, how's the post workflow with RED footage?
(as compared to DV, HD, film, whatev)

Brilliant, we shoot up to the 4k limit and work with the proxi files, depending on what type of project it is, red cine is actually pretty powerful as a grading tool, but if you look at something called chrimson it allows you to import an xml from final cut then import that into red cine so you can grade indivdual shots then export these shots and reconnect the media, I was a bit unsure of the workflow to begin with as it seemed exactly the same as traditional film with red but chrimson seems to be a good third party app.
I have been using firestores for a couple of years now almost and the workflow is pretty smooth compared to traditional tape as it is six times faster, so we archive onto firewire drives at the end of the project it's pretty easy but you need to be careful when deleting files as it's your only copy. I have also recieved some sony XD cam footage today actually and it is smooth as well good 60 frames per second stuff of mountain biking jumps and fires and stuff, again the workflow is the same as with a fires store.

Good to know, choss!
A DP friend of mine shot this footage on RED, and it just killed me. So beautiful and close to 35mm. Haven't worked with any yet from a post production standpoint.

It really is a great camera we are trying to buy one, with all the bits and bobs it will cost us about £40,000. We did a top secret shoot for a whisky that is being launched and the footage we got was super cool, lovely slow stuff, with lengths of muslin billowing around a beautiful woman and handsom man great stuff. Once the whisky is launched I could show you the footage.

can't wait till the cheap RED comes out next year.

Tell me more, before we dish out several thousand whammy's.

If and when you can post it, would love to see it chossy! :D
It's definitely not cheap, but I am astounded that you can get a really nice RED cam package for that price. Even with HD, start adding lenses and other peripherals, that shit adds up real fast.

I got my prices pretty wrong actually, I went to look at what we have on our wish list and It comes to around $50,000 which is about £30,000 in real money or close to it.
When you say the cheap one Douglas do you mean the scarlet?.... or the epic cause the epic won;t be cheap as it goes up to 5k but the wee scarlet only does 3k, but I think I will be holding off a bit now that you have mentioned the cheap one I am now scared.
