Im trying to find a way to put a japanese-dot style stroke (like you can do in indesign) but cant find a way to do this anywhere in illustrator? Surely theres a way to get a dotted keyline so i dont have to use that bloody dashed keyline!
Anybody?

check dashed line and choose rounded corners in the line pallet.
line 0, dash X pt.
done!- Shit man. I feel like the universe just opened up. I've been wondering how to do that for years!Glitterati_Duane

i also have a question..
When I have a stroke around a path.. and I want to do > path > create outlines.. the stroke always changes
- try Expand Appearance or Flatten Transparencymonospaced
- choose object>flatten transparency and check strokes to outline and such.stewart
