Heckapoo,
Killerqueen actually means well,
but is kind of an blunt instrument,
i follow some points that he has,
it does get of a bit of a mess when you open a project
and everything that moves makes me a bit seasick but
overall its a good site for a target audience that is used to something.

Why is my name in this title?

we'll i suppose in defense: the idea was to show an always present visual flow (breadcrumb) of the site in a system of parallax grids. We wanted to acheive the effect of volumetric space in a type of weightless environnment (freeing design from being static and locked down). It was exploratory and we had an idea that it may become controversial. Your opinions are definitely valid and i thank you for them.

killerqueen: what is your scenario (laptop?, OS, browser, screen res?)
("impress... and confuse" rofl)

Impress...and confuse.

there is no question whatsoever, that this site will impress the hell out of any client Mr. Levine is approached by; enough so that they commission him. The audience, in this case, is more than likely well-understood.

Thanks for your criticisms and bringing an example of your tastes. In this case the client really wanted us to be exploratory in our approach to his presentation. You can find more on this project in our portfolio at www.sectionseven.com

Overall I like it. I dig the general concept of panning around the structures and all that. I have no opinion on the plank, really. The only thing I don't like is all the mousey-related movement on the screen. It got me a little nauteous from the motion.
But it's quite neat.

Then I'd say you're more of a Flash Designer or a Programmer than a true graphic designer, because it's really poor in terms of visual effeciency....what I'd define as consistency and making the design as simple as possible, but not simpler.
The scroll tracker for rotating houses is a good example.
I'm not a Flash hater either, quite on the contrary. An example of a site I love is the old Interone.de website, with the 3d flower that would "grow".
Not sure its online anymore.

Sadly I am a designer... :( It seems that people either love it or hate it... (killerqueen: can you give me an example of a site that you love?)
- killerqueen0
Heckapoo, next time hire a designer.

I'm in the "Love It" camp myself. Great balance of animation and usability. I think it's one of the best websites I've seen in a long time.

The inclusion of the "Blog and news" thing is just confusing and disorienting.
- killerqueen0
The navigation is a pain in the ass.
Poor consistency and usability.
What is the point of the Glowing Circle following my mouse? Just to annoy me?
- Heckapoo0
I've often wondered if the experience is too linear? (flow: cards > project model (rotating) > detail images)
- sputnik20
like the initial vertical cards w/numbers effect on a purely tactile level, but beyond that the flow and navigation is really difficult to use.
plus it takes for EVAH to load each project

I thought we had squashed that bug... weird. Can you replicate it?
