  depending on what your options are, i'd look into slicehost. You'd need to pick a slice, but as far as software, you can do anything you want with it.

  yea I can recommend slicehost.
  Mediatemple is nice as well....slightly more expensive to get the same thing.
  - with mediatemple you will need to request to get a clean server with no cp on it.
