i cant stand celebrities like amy winehouse and pete doherty not just because they're wasting their talents but because of how much they get away with. doherty has appeared in court millions of times and has had to do very little punishment where anyone else would be serving lengthy prison sentences.. they make an absolute mockery of the british law and the millions of people who abide by them.
they sing a good song or two and all of a sudden they're above the law and everyone else. makes me sick
also makes me sick that a publicised drug problem can actually boost a singer's career.. being in the headlines is free marketing no matter what reason.. used to be a problem in the boardsports industry too, snowboarders and surfers with massive drink/drug problems were marketing gold for some companies (world industries for example). you ever hear abot that snowboarder in the whiskey videos who finally went sober after years of battling the bottle, losing his wife and family and everything else, then his sponsors (world industries) dropped him cos they didnt know how to market him anymore?

So I happened to catch her Glastonbury set last night on the Beeb. I thought she did a good job. I saw this moment http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/enter… and I hardly think it qualifies as a lead international story on the bbc news website (I know, I know, complain to the Beeb, not here). But it does go to show the ridiculous media coverage she gets.
