really depends on a couple of things.
- what is your visa requirement?
- are you cash-handed?
- what sort of profession/education/asylum are you looking for in SF?- what does cash-handed mean?********
- you know picasso's image with the bread hands, welll...kld
- I'm squirrel handedninjasavant
- what does cash-handed mean?

If you're willing to go through the US red tape, SF is doing fairly well right now in terms of jobs. It'll cost you a bit of cash to go through the process and the kiwi dollar won't help much there.
Just be aware - salaries can be high but so can the cost of living. SF ain't cheap!
Have a look:

One other thing of note - (someone will probably disagree with me here)
It's been my experience in San Fran that you really have to know your shit - not just design-wise but coding as well. In some cities, you can get by with not being that technical even if your role isn't.
SF, for some reason, really wants technical people regardless of position.
Again - just my own experience.

+1 on the above stated. (itouch does not do comments on qbn...)

These guys get a ton of press over here in the UK. Never used 'em but they look reputable - perhaps they can help?

Is there anyone on QBN who is NOT moving to SF?
- vanilla_cam0
i don't know, but i hope they stop. i need a new job.

I was there this past weekend..
loved it.. I wish I can move up there..I disagree about the technical people, just like in any part of the world you need to know the right people, that's all..
talent has nothing to do with it.
you can be amazing and not make a dime, or be below average and kick it with hedge

I moved out of SF, but my house still lives there. too damn expensive up there, and because of that, its career first, family second kinda thing. good if your young and need a jump start on your career. I loved SF about 15 years ago, but these days too many back stabbing career driven pricks with big mouths and no balls to back it up. (did I just say that last part out loud?)

hope it works out. :-)

if your still moving, a tenant just moved out of my pad in SF, rent was lowered to $800/mo.

If you want buttsecks, SF is the way to go. If you want regular, anywhere in America is OK.
