I just copied an older folder onto a newer folder from one external HD to another. It would be life saving to get this back. I reversed what I wanted to do.
I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer.

Disk Warrior? It works well. BUT, if you have outstanding commands to the receiving disk, it might not work. But i bet you don't...

What OS are you running?

I think all that would have happened is that the OS updated the file allocation table pointing the newer folder to the location of the older folder. If so the newer folder may still exist physically somewhere on your drive but is not referenced. If so you may be able to use an app to find all files on the drive and get it back, similar to how you would if you accidentally deleted a file.

^ I'm sorry, that made no sense. Basically get hold of an app that can find deleted files and you may be able to get it back.

I tried Diskwarrior and actually just about every file recovery thingamabob. Does anyone know how much it costs to pay someone to attempt this kind of thing? I should also mention, these are Protools sessions, so there are thousands, literally, of rooted AIFF files. If this is a lost cause, LET ME KNOW! I have already half accepted it.
