I just finished developing the latest and greatest version of the new and improved Type 3 Registry web site for Type 3 Volkswagens (such as Squarebacks, Notchbacks, Variants, Fastbacks, Karmann Ghia/T34s, Notchback/Sedans, Squareback/Variants). The purpose of the Registry is to locate and document all of the remaining Type 3 Volkswagens around the world.

that glow on the header is way off, menu looks like 1999 bad taste web, and what is the deal with the red links on the grey background?try harder!

Honestly its really ugly. To me its over done, Id lose the borders around the whole site, lose the drop effect on the logo and make it smaller, lose the bad gradients (if you want to keep the gradients i'd advise to make it a 'top to bottom' gradient rather than having it lighter on the top and bottom, or reduce the opacity at least!) on the menu bars and align the content to fit the area. This would improve it a bit.

It might be useful to mention somewhere on the homepage that the Type 3 is made by a company called Volkswagen...
- It is mentioned, all over... but, since we're not endorsed by VW, we can't legally have the VW be prevalent throughout the site...advan

I think you mean 'Submissions' (in the showcase page)
Since there is only one car list, it might be better to use a title that more directly references the 'collection of cars' rather than referencing 'recent submissions'..

I do also agree that I would change the navigation buttons background to just plain black (maybe with a 1px white border...or then again plain black might look better), then red on rollover (same red as the 'Type'3 is set in for consistency) and again the red for the down state.
