I did it a year back, definately have a few drinks to loosen the nerves, but not too much. Make notes on who your introducing, who they are in relation to the bride and groom. Don't speak too fast.

Once it's all over you'll be glad you did it. I was shitting my pants when I did it, but after a few drinks I calmed down and rocked it! Shame they're not together anymore!

pretend to be more nervous than you actually are and stutter at the start of your speech a few times so people start to feel sorry for you, then as you progress through the speech seem more confident and lose the stuttering. it worked for Gareth Gates.

the good thing about being the best man is that you get first dibs on any hot bridesmaids.
unfortunately the MC just gets the pick of any hot grandparents or aunties. bad luck dude.
