anyone know how this is done
if you roll over the top navigation which sites right at the top of the site a flash banner seems to expand or slide in over the top of the HTML? How is this done? it also seems to be used as advertising banners alot.
Cheers

We do these from time to time, but only with Yahoo as the ad server, so I don't how other ad servers do it (maybe the same).
Basically you just create 2 SWFs. First one loads in, then on rollover it gets swapped with the 'expanded' version.
For example, say it's a 728x90. You mouse over, and the SWF swaps out a 728x315.

it's a transparent flash on a div layer above the html index

No I don't work for Yahoo, but we have a client that has a large media buy for expanding banners with Yahoo. So we've been doing a bunch this year.

www.pointroll.com also gives you this option off a media buy

Im asking because I also do banners for Yahoo sometimes and I want to see if you have been successful using video or other external loading media on your banners.
Thanks.
- Haven't done that yet. There was mention of it for a previous round of banners but it got killed for now.harlequino
