I'm about o head off to the sadist who calls himself my physical therapist. I'm considering dropping a vicodin before I go to cut the old pain train off at the station during the session. Any opinions?

Ask him if it's safe to do it.
The vicodin might do funny things to your blood pressure or something similar and he/she'd need to know if there was something like that happening to you.
It is important. More important than discomfort.
