This is ridiculous.
These scarves are everywhere now.
Originally the scarves are the traditional garb all over the Middle East, spanning from Pakistan to Egypt. Some terrorists just happen to wear them because they may live in that region. If you visit the Middle East you’ll see they are worn by everyone. Even US, British and other western troops wear them in Afghanistan.
They then were worn by activist students who were apposed to Israeli occupation of Palestine and wanted to create awareness of conflict in the Middle East.
Somewhere down the line it became “trendy” and seems to have lost its meaning. Very much like the Che Guevara t-shirt, it was something that went from being symbolic of strength and revolution to a meaningless fashion item. Unless of coarse it appears in advertising where it’s immediately portrayed as support for terrorism.
