your video card has just one single link connector? that seems... strange. my guess would be that your vid card is not capable of driving your monitor at its native (highest) resolution

anybody else have any ideas?

what model is your monitor?
what video card do you have in your machine?

DVI single link max res is 1920 x 1200
DVI dual link max res is 2560 x 1600you can get an adaptor, but if your monitor is higher res than 1920 x 1200 it no worky!

sorry I was in the car, anyway here's what I got.
ATI radeon hd 2600 xt 256mb two dual link dvi card.
And my monitor is a 20 inch apple cinema display that I got around 5 years ago.

Is my card cheap?

an ATI Radeon 2600XT has 2 dual link connectors, so it doesn't make sense that you're seeing a single link connector

ok just got back from the apple store. In case anyone was wondering I had to get an dvi to adc adapter.
