So, you'd like to take the work away from the little Asian kids and starve them? That's touching.
- this is so wrong, but I still laughed! Whats up man, hows the head this morning?ian
- wow. again one person's trouble.. is the solution and gain for another company********
- My head's surprisingly allright Ian, I woke up early, it was weird. How about yours?rafalski
- Was a wee bit fuzzy, not used to drinking on a sunday! Good night though, must do it again, but on a proper night, like.ian

/\ .... Wow, I am so not impressed by the lack of consumer justice that hasn't prevailed past the paycheck from the man. Probably why I don't wear Nikes. Ideally, Converse was the better brand in Basket Ball. And Adidas in Hip Hop. I laugh when people wear Nike's boing boings and kids go crazy over the Nike collecting craze.

Ok, for what its worth, if you are unhappy with a companies track record or their practices you have to vote with your cash. In some cases thats much harder to do.
For instance I don't like nikes practice of using sweatshops and I believe that over the years as public pressure is put upon them they respond, but i still don't wear nike. Similarly i don't like Microsoft because when I've worked on windows I found it awkward and ugly so after years of using apple Im pretty much institutionalised, but not a fanboy.
However rather than look just at luxury brands as being evil, companies like nestle are much more sinister in my opinion, in western countries its all about eating healthy (look at their cereals etc) while in developing countries theres pressure to get mothers to use their baby formula instead of breastfeeding, calls of slave labour etc. But avoiding nestlé products is hard, because not everything owned and produced by them is branded as such.
Find out what you can and avoid those companies whose morals and values conflict with your own. Make your own choices, because that what we are able to do as consumers.

Nike loyalists got Nike's shoe shoved so far up their tunnels, I'll be surprised if there's shiet at the end of the tunnel.

so xbox is good but you hate microsoft?
also the customer is not always right - stop spewing shit cliches.
I can see you've jizzing over the first things first manifesto - but try growing your own balls instead of massaging those of the faux-altruistic.are you getting a kick out of this? are you gonna go paste up your own ironic anti-propaganda posters, and wank over the latest adbusters? way to emancipate from the crowd! you go man!
- hold on, do those balls have Nike swooshes on them? cuz i don't think you got a pair of those, do you?********

ah fuck, no one is above it, it seems:
The actual impact of codes of conduct like these on the employment practices of sportswear companies is questionable. The Play Fair at the Olympics report documents the falsification of evidence during codes of conduct inspections at plants producing for Fila, Nike, Umbro, Speedo, Reebok, and ASICS, including the creation of false wage records, pressuring workers to say that they work a ten hour day and have two days off a week, and similar bogus claims.Full article:

I have to admit I have the D Wade shoes from a couple of years back and they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.

aah get real.
if there was no one to take the other side - what was the point in even creating the thread?
"oh no companies are bad..
ok.. - now what?"+ maybe i feel like defending the corporate - its to easy not to. which is ironic cause i guarantee that least 40% of this board has worked with one of the big ones as a client..
if you got a problem with them dont buy it. - just stop trying to make me feel guilty for indulging in hard earned retail therapy
- Transit_Broadcast0
So you are taking the other side 'just to take the other side'? Astounding.
Nobody is making YOU do anything. You feel guilty because you feel guilty. Nobody said you were bad... but I think most people would like to see better choices for consumers. Hopefully enough people will stop buying their product and force the market to change.
- crazy eh?NewElpaso
- If people gave you a hard time it's because you called them names, understand jerk?Transit_Broadcast

it's your duty as a consumer to search for alternatives..
it's not your duty to whinge...
- rafalski0
I really meant what I said: if leftist activism gets factories in Asia closed, it leaves these people unemployed, hence being the cause of a problem rather than the solution.
But putting pressure on the likes of Nike by speaking up during Olympics kind of bullshit events is fine in my book though.
- NewElpaso0
man i'm bored - you are way to easy to wind up...
your point of view (while at stages is true and worrying for the consumer) is boring and it's old news.. flogging a dead horse for the sake of it.
if you find a new interesting angle to tell me about corporate crimes let me know..
but anyway good on you for at least believing in something...
i envy that..
