How do I get a PMS color code in Illustrator? I'm makin t-shirts for a band and have no idea what I'm doing...arg.

I mean, on the colour swatch, click the little triangle icon top right, load swatch library > pantone whatever
hovering over colours reveals the number.

If you mean 'how do I derive the closest PMS match to a colour I already have?', you're better off using the Colour Libraries tab in your Photoshop colour dropper menu. You can get plugins to do it in Illy, but .. meh.

There are loads of PMS matching websites, though lots of RGB > PMS ones have been shut down. I lost my bookmarks so can't help directly.

just use your pantone colors, it really doesnt matter what set you use aslong as you stay consistant. in illustrator go to>>windows>>>swatch libraries>>>color books>>>>pantone solid coated. that should work
