I'm thinking about one for day to day depending on how far I have to travel. I had always thought they were death traps but I guess not. What's their 0-60/top speed?

33 mpg city/ 41 mpg highway....They can do better than that with such a small vehicle. My Jetta TDI gets better gas mileage.

They are amazing. We've got loads of them in London and I always get jealous when I see Smart drivers parking in a normal parallel type spot facing the street. You can fit two of 'em in one parking bay.

still has the same kind of roll/crash cage though.

these for two's are really small cars, and my roadster is tiny!
it would so sooooo scary driving a smart car in the USA as all the other cars are so much bigger!!!!!The smart cars are great fun, esp the roadster model.
750cc turbo, sounds quite puny but its got a lot of oomph! i've had mine up to about 120mph and acceleration of 0-60mph will beat a LOT of hothatches.
all that plus stupid amount of miles to a tank of petrol.- What's the make?********

Its a great city car.. and perfect for short trips and the quick commute to work.. plus the passenger seat folds flat, and you can actually get a full tripod and bag in there.. (and I imagine golf clubs as well...)

If you get the roadster coupe (like mine) then you get extra boot space behind you (above the engine). if you just get the roadster thats got a flat boot back and the car doesnt look as much of a beast in my opinion.
