i am just speaking from experience. I always try to help people get jobs at my place or other places. I just wanted to point out that I was giving honest opinion. Yes he didnt ask for his portfolio crit. But he could of said "its my old portfolio and I will post new one soon". But he went on a rampage of some sort.
I am glad that he said what he said because that really shows his true personality. Seriously, we work in creative, we should be used to getting beaten down by our bosses / clients on our work. If he didnt go off like this I wouldnt mind help the guy out like I have to other NTers.

He's off to a great start!
A+ for burning a bridge with a CD at Ogilvy & Mather.

MrDinky is harsh but you shouldn't be so sensitive.
getting a visa is now pretty hard :
You have to find a company that will be interested enough to spend money for your case (lawer etc..), and wait for you knowing that after a first selection (being sponsored, having at least a BA for exemple), there's a LOTTERY 65000visas for about 130000applications....Then if you really want to move you should know that it's too late for this year ; you have to fill your application between the 1st &7th of april. and if you are selected you will move in october.

actually its not too late. maybe H1 visa but you can apply for O or even get a student visa than get a work permit right after. Also you can do transfer visa if the you work at big global agency and want to transfer to other agency with in the network
- O takes about 3-6 months depending on credentials.********

I though of the H1B since it's the most common.
O visa looks really hard to get (mainly for high level profiles, you have to have a PH and/or some valuable experience )
Concerning the transfer visa, I've heard you had to work for 2 years to be eligible.

O is not that hard. All you need is that you show some published work (magazines, etc etc) and awards. Hard part is confirming and getting recommendation from places such as AIGA and others.
Transfer visa, you just need to work for 1 year at originating country and thats it. Say for interpublic group, you work at McCann in London and have worked there for a year, you can come to any interpublic owned company like RG/A etc.
There is always the hurdle of inter company transfer. Each network has different policy about pouching with in the network.

Contact Judy Wert in NY. She got me lined up with loads of offers when I was looking at moving to New York many years ago. She's well connected. Use The Google Luke.
