anyone know how difficult it is to create this non textured 3d effect? Is there any tutorials out there at all? cant seem to find it on google, but may be searching the wrong things

Its called Ambient Occlusion. Look for it based on the 3d app you use, but here is a plugin for C4D I used long time ago... i'm sure there is a better solution now, but haven't looked recently....

it's easy. you need a 3d program.
