Anyone buy an external flash and use it? Which one do you recommend?

I borrowed a 430ex for two weeks and found the metering sometimes out and also not powerful enough sometimes during the day for fill flash. I bought a 580ex II and its been brilliant. You can get the 580ex II from hong kong quite cheaply too. That were mine came from.

580 EXII. Just rocks some socks. Have two of them. You can really do some fun creative shots.
