InDesign Q

I'm currently designing a catalog for a client and we're receiving ads from other vendors to place within the book. All our ads are placed on the left page of each spread. When receiving art from the vendors, I've noted file size including a 0.125" bleed size on ALL 4 sides. However, when placing the ads onto the InDesign file, 0.125" of the ad's art moves into the right page of the spread. I spoke to our printers and he mentioned that I should keep the bleed on all 4 sides. Can InDesign handle this problem automatically when exporting?

i don't know, did you try exporting it and seeing the results?

yes... export as single pages... if its in spreads now it should look like it over laps... its ok

yeah when and if you make spreads you'll just have to go through and fix it. although I don't think I quite understand what's going on here.

What i understand is your printer thinks "printer spread" and you work "reader spread"...
You should let your printer handle the bleed in the inside.

exporting as single pages seems like an easy solution as well, ESPtype..
doesnotexist, i was debating whether i should edit the file myself and remove the bleed on the right side of each ad.

nah i would absolutely set up the printer spreads yourself. just let indesign make the spreads, but go through and make sure images aren't flipped and going into other spreads, this usually happens when you make the spreads. you just have to go through and fix it.
do not let the printer do this for you, you're the designer my friend.
