I loved how sincere and 'from a real place' his emotional expression was.

Aren't we all getting fucked by the same deal really? and isn't it all because technology democratises the creative process and enables more people with less talent to crowd the market place?

Imagine a world where you could only make a movie if you had the skills and the ground up work experience to do so, or illustrate because you were one of the rare few who can actually illustrate, as opposed to one fo the millions who can 'operate an illustration package' or if you were one of the few people around with the knowledge of print and type and reprographics and a natural eye for a well executed composition that you could be a designer.

Fuck, that would be a great world. It was like that before Apple Mac's "1984" commercial took freedom of expression to this extreme where skill can be decoded, recoded, and sold as downloadable apps with pdf guides to "Getting Started".

Every creative endeavour is devalued entirely by the ease of replication. The Movie industry is no exception. Don't bother placing a high value on your product, because there will be a million wannabees just like you waiting to do something very similar and the movie execs will just go to the person behind you in the line for the same thing at a lower price.
