Depends. What are you doing?
For me, depending on scale & requirements:
sNews, Textpattern or ExpressionEngine

I hate CMS with "themeing systems" or "smarty templates" or that shit. Give me the straight PHP includes and I'll put it where I want in a nice simple clean (x)html template(s) of my design..hence my favoring of the systems I recommended above and radical dislike of Drupal/Plone/Wordpress

could not agree more TBO. that said, it is possible to do the very thing with Plone, just takes a little-known plugin to do it... ;)
IMO, display and content should be divorced 100% from a CMS.
- Probably true. I'm just too lazy at this point to learn yet another cms system's syntax..TheBlueOne

the templating for Drupal can be done with any xhmtl & css you like too - no "themeing systems" [sic] or "smarty templates" required.
You can simply drop the PHP where you want it.... AND you have the power of multiple sites on one installation allowing for true multilingual sites for example.

So? I can do the same thing with ExpressionEngine....with far less security holes...
