slow ass illustrator

I have 30 gigs available but my cs3 is soooo slow! I move something on my art board and it takes seconds for it to react! This so painful! Any suggestions?

HD-space is pretty irrelevant beyond a couple of GBs - the important factors are RAM and programs running concurrently. If it's always slow, perhaps it's just time to upgrade?

I figured it was time to upgrade but I was hoping to suck a little more out this one but it is 4 yrs old so it's time! How do you outboard your scratch disk? Would that help for the time being?

I don't think I would want to draw 1 ass fast let alone 30 slowly.
