So we're (the wife and I) considering a move back. We're feeling a little unsettled over here at the moment and we said we'd always move back there at some point. Philly is great and all but living outside the city makes you feel so disconnected. We're a 12 hour drive away from family living here, but it's only 12 hours flying to get to Indy from Scotland.
I think at some point in my career I've applied to just about every agency in Edinburgh & Glasgow so I was wondering if there are any new places to try since I left in 2006.
Is it still and bad with neds and scumbags as when I left? Should I just stay here instead?

looks to me that everything is going more and more digital (no surprise there), not sure of new places but it seems old places are acquiring more of those kind of guys. I'm not the best to give you the info as me and my place are a bit out of that scot-design loop but I have noticed that much.
As for your last question, I have no frame of reference but I never found it that bad anyway to be honest. Probably worse would the logical trend

the are some good agencies in glasgow. third eye probably getting the most attention. but places like skratch, tictoc, 2fluid, good creative, graphical house are all good. i agree with kelpie it definitely is going more and more digital.

Hillside was great but for some reason my boss and ex-colleagues never returned my emails. Maybe I smell. Was feckin good money too and interesting work. But you gotta do what you gotta do, eh?

If it's going more and more digital doesn't that mean that print designers are becoming rarer and more of a specialist demand (what I'm getting at is can they earn more money?)

i used to live in scotland... was alright. would probably even recommend it.

every decent agency in glasgow does digital as well as a wee bit of print. i can really think of any agencies that just do print, well apart from stand and there dull.

Navy Blue have had a major restructure/agency focus shift. I think London is the base for the senior creative thinkers and all the work is done in Edinburgh.

I like 10 seconds walk from Navy Blue, if I ever go on a shotting spree I know where to head.

I'll ask at GraphicPartners to see if they are on the hunt for someone.I cross over from Greenparka and do the occasional bit of print work.
Someone in print would get to do vice versa too i guess.I'll ask for ya
- Great, thanks! I'm a senior at the moment.
