On a Mac you can, not sure about the Microsoft monopoly on a PC?
- IE 5 on Mac TOTALLY different than IE 5 in PC. Night and day... different dev teams at the time.ETM
- Still sucked on both platforms... as we well know.ETM
- why would anyone test on a mac?Llyod
- yes we're well aware of your mac stance uber, so you have anything constructive to add? didn't think soacescence

On vista it comes built in with ie7 so you can't install older versions as you can uninstall it, I'd also like to know if you could get ie6 on a vista pc for web development

Unfortunately that lovely program "multiple ie's" doesn't work on Vista, it contained 4 - 6.0 for testing. It doesn't work anymore because the old IE functioned as a part of Windows Explorer, which has been totally separated in Vista, so those old versions cannot run, to my knowledge.

even the multiple IE thing isn't *exactly* like having the real versions installed, i've noticed some rendering differences on occasion. i ask my friend to fire up his ancient win98 box when i need to know the real deal.

If you just want to check something quick you can try Browsercam

You could run multiple Virtual PCs, on Mac or Windows, to test the different IE versions, if you can be bothered setting it up..
